MgA. Martina Schulmeisterová-Merunková
Martina Schulmeisterová - Merunková was born in 1978 in Havlíčkův Brod. She started learning to play the piano under Blanka Skálová. Then she studied at P. J. Vejvanovský Conservatory in Kroměříž under MgA. Vanda Jandová (1992-1998) and at JAMU, Brno under prof. Alena Vlasáková (1998-2003), graduating at doctoral programme with doctoral thesis “Agnes Tyrrell, life and work”. She attended masterclasses of interpretation under the prominent teachers such as Arne Torger (Germany), Tatiana Zagorowskaja (Russia), Hans Leygraf (Austria), Maria Korecka - Soszkowska (Poland), Eugen Indjic (USA, France). During her studies she gained attention for her remarkable success in international piano competitions. Martina Schulmeisterová is the laureate of international competitions in Košice (1993), „Beethoven´s Hradec“ (1996), „A.M.A. Calabria“ in Lamezia Terme, Italy (1999), „Forum Internationale“ in Vicenza (Italy – 2000) and „Musical Performance and Pedagogics“ in Helsingor, Denmark (2001).She also gained the YAMAHA company scholarship.
As a soloist she cooperates with prominent Czech ensembles and orchestras. In 2003 she was honoured by being on the Premier List of young artists of the Czech Music Fond. Since 2009 she is a member of Petrof Piano Trio together with Jan Schulmeister (violin) and Kamil Žvak (violoncello). The Trio members regularly perform in the Czech Republic and abroad. Petrof Piano Trio has recorded 6 CDs so far.
Martina Schulmeisterová has taught at P. J. Vejvanovský Conservatory since 2002. Her students are successful in international and national piano competitions.
